How change the Intraleo Cave  to a "sanctuary"

I am really sad to let you know that few days ago  (6 Agust 2005) visiting Grotta Intraleo (Intraleo Cave) noticed with astonishment and sadness that the cave, set into the A zone of the Etna park near Mount Gallo Rosso, was totally changed.

The inside of the branch up to the cave is deeply ravaged by an altar and benches. Nearby the two seats, there are some signs of bonfires. There are no more bats, the presence of which I could notice during my previous excursions (1989, 1992, 1996, 1999, 2000). They were probably upset by the works in progress.

Chi ha eseguito i lavori avrebbe potuto limitarsi a porre all'interno della grotta semplicemente una statuetta della madonna, così come riscontrato in molte altre zone del vulcano.

Dopo una breve ricerca sul web, non posso che sottoscrivere quanto affermato da Giuseppe Priolo del Gruppo Grotte Catania nella rivista SpeleoEtna dell'Aprile 2005, cioè che siamo di fronte ad "un vero scempio in nome della religione che dovrebbe considerare la natura come un bene fondamentale di quel mondo creato da Dio".

During a new visit in the Intraleo cave,

I hope the authorities having juridiction on the defense and care of Etna's park territory will take the needed solutions and I invite all of you to keep in contact with the office put in charge.
